Design and Analysis of New Ultra Wideband Antenna for On-Body Communications

Abstract

In this paper design and implementation of a new and compact ultra wide band antenna for on body communication is addressed. In order to reduce the interference body system, WLAN and WiMAX rejection bands are used. These rejection bands are introduced by using newly suggested metamaterials loading technique. The EBG structure is used as the metamaterials. In addition, a specific absorption rate was simulated using CST Microwave Studio software. A good agreement has been observed between the simulation and experimental results. Considering the specific features of the proposed antenna, it can be appropriate for the on body applications in communication.
