In this Paper, Design of an Axial Mode 2×2 Tapered Dielectric- Loaded Helical Antenna Array for INMARSAT-M Mobile Vehicles in the L Band are Presented. This Designed Antenna Array is Smaller and Lighter than the Previous Ones. For Improving the Array Performance, Special Attention has been Paid to Important Parameters such as Gain, Side Lobe Level, Impedance Matching and Axial Ratio Bandwidth. To Facilitate its Application in the Satellite Communication, a Tapered Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator (DR) can be used to Enhance the Forward Tilt of the Total Electric Field Launched from the Helix. This Array has a Gain of 15.1 dB, a Radiation Pattern with a Side Lobe Level of -21dB and a 3-dB Axial Ratio Bandwidth is about 15%. By Using these Methods Simultaneously, Designed Antenna has the Better Radiation Parameters than the Prior Commercial Examples.
